Freezing rain and slushy sidewalks didn’t put much of a dent in the turnout on Tuesday for Netflix’s New York premiere of its latest drama series launch, “Bloodline.”

The SVA Theater was packed for the screening of the first two episodes of the intense family drama from Sony Pictures TV and the scribe trio behind “Damages,” Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman.

Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of original content, was only exaggerating a little when she enthused that the show boasts “probably the best cast assembled in television history.”

Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini and Norbert Leo Butz have instant chemistry in their roles as the offspring of a respected couple who run a hotel in the Florida Keys. Sissy Spacek and Sam Shepard also impress as the elders of the clan that, of course, is battling skeletons in their closets larger than the gators in the swamps.

There were lots of hugs and “how are yous” exchanged among the cast members on Tuesday night, but most of the chatter seemed to concentrate on scouting out the driest possible route from the theater to the after-party venue, Top of the Standard in the High Line park. The screening drew a big turnout among Sony Pictures TV execs, including presidents of programming and production Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht, Suzanne Patmore Gibbs, Dawn Steinberg and Kim Rozenfeld.
Netflix lifts the curtain on all 13 episodes of “Bloodline” on March 20.
