Don't Count 'Friday Night Lights' Out Yet

Wait just a minute ...

Entertainment Weekly broke the news that season five would be the last for Friday Night Lights. Not a bad run for a show that bounced from NBC to DirecTV and back. Now the show's executive producer gives fans hope that the gang might not all book other jobs when the fifth season wraps.

..."To me I feel it's early," Katims said. "It's early yet. Of course if this next year winds up being the final season of the show then I will feel very, very lucky and grateful that we were able to do as many episodes of a show that is so dear to my heart. As I said there hasn't been any official decision about that yet."

So what about that story on EW? "It's weird that that would happen when literally we're breaking stories for a new season that we haven't even started to shoot yet. I just don't want it to seem like the show is over. You know, there was a period of time between the second season and the third season where we were canceled. The show was gone and the show wound up coming back. There's nothing official yet."
