A New Nod to Early Edition

In this review of the new show, Flash Forward, there's a very nice nod to its predecessor, Early Edition starring KC:

Some More Kyle and Connie Love

An interesting perspective on the current status of movies and television. According to the author,

"It’s not so much that I prefer television to film, but rather that I think the gap in quality is shrinking to the point of non-existence."

"Think about the greatest performances you’ve seen in a movie theater in the past few years; perhaps you’re thinking of Daniel Day-Lewis (greatest living actor) in There Will Be Blood or Meryl Streep in Doubt or Matt Damon in The Good Shepherd. As great as I think those performances are, I think equally highly – if not more so - of Jon Hamm as Don Draper in Mad Men or Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton as Coach and Tami Taylor in Friday Night Lights or Mary-Louise Parker as Nancy Botwin in Weeds or Michael C. Hall in Dexter."

We concur. Friday Night Lights is the best show on television, today ... and it's no secret why.

Best Football Squad in History of the World

A tongue in cheek attempt for putting together the "best football squad in the history of the world," using the following rules:

1. No real or famous people who were portrayed in movies (like Gale Sayers in Brian's Song, for example). We can, however, use characters from shows or movies based upon a true story -- like Friday Night Lights or Remember the Titans.

2. No "bad guys," meaning we're only using players from the protagonist teams.

3. Personality and talent are equally weighed. Sure, we want a good football team, but this is entertainment. If someone is oozing charisma -- such as our starting fullback -- he's always going to get the nod over a boring character with more talent.

Luckily for us, Coach Taylor and some of the Panthers are mentioned along with other football characters held in very high esteem.

Sheldon Loves Friday Night Lights!

Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory, recently nominated for an Emmy for his role, sings the praises of Friday Night Lights.

As a Texas native, he praises its ability to capture life in Texas.

Morning?

IMDB lists "Morning" as being in post production, but all other details are very scarce. Does anyone have any information on this film? If so, please let us know. We'd love to hear more about it.

Thanks.

Back-to-School Means Back to COOL!

There's something great about this time of year, right?

It may be (or may not) be calm in your household, but over in Dillon things are no doubt in a frenzy. When I think about the fact that FNL is filming again, the characters sort of come alive to me. No, I'm not crazy, I just wonder what the future will bring for the Taylors.

So many questions. This may seem cryptic but I'm protecting our KyleFans from other countries who are way behind due to syndication.

1) Will Coach be able to adjust to the hand he has been dealt?

2) Will his new rival be sportsmanlike, or are we going to get to see another locker room wall slam?

3) Are you looking forward to meeting some new characters that will undoubtedly surface?

Let us know what you think!
